Course description

This course will focus on the working principle of Mechanical wet Seal and Dry gas seals, Conventional mechanical seals, seal designs and arrangements. On the other hand the course will cover the seal selection, installation and operation as well as seal failure analysis & troubleshooting

Course goal

This course offers a firm understanding of:

  1. Dry gas mechanical seal, mechanical seal working principle, seal components, and seal installation
  2. The basics of mechanical seal maintenance
  3. The basics of conventional mechanical seals maintenance

 

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course the participant should be able to:

  1. Describe the working principle of dry gas mechanical seal, mechanical seal components
  2. Describe the working principle of conventional mechanical seal (wet mechanical seals), and mechanical seal components
  3. Explain the seal installation procedures
  4. Define the items that must be considered when performing mechanical seal troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation
  5. Describe the required procedure to specify mechanical seal for specific application.
